Known for high quality work, customer service, and timely completion of projects, we are looking for qualified candidates to add to our team. Heavy Equipment Operator- Underground Utilities is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient operation of various types of heavy civil construction equipment including but not limited to blade, excavator, side boom, or dozer. The Heavy Equipment Operator will operate heavy civil construction equipment and work with crews to complete underground utility projects as designed under the direction of the project foreman or superintendent. This positiion is in Williston, ND.

  • Ensure compliance with Right of Way provisions and Construction Stipulations, and respecting landowner concerns and operations
  • Complete projects according to design specifications and as directed by the project foreman or superintendent
  • Operate heavy civil construction equipment according to JMAC standard operating procedures and construction best methods (e.g., track hoes, backhoes, loaders, trenchers)
  • Work with crew and customers as necessary to meet service, quality, timeline, and budget expectations. This may include evaluating progress and issues, communicating with other crew members and leaders
  • Maintain company equipment per service requirements and safety guidelines
  • Assist with construction clean-up as necessary
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety
  • Three to five years experience in heavy civil construction equipment operation
  • Demonstrated in using heavy civil construction equipment to achieve high quality results
  • Possess strong working knowledge of construction practices including trenching and shoring standards
  • Ability to interpret directions, plans, and specifications for projects
  • Commitment to performing quality work and to working efficiently
  • Ability to work well as a member of a team and independently
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to problem solve as needed in order to obtain desired results
  • Ability to perform heavy labor that includes lifting up to 75 pounds up to 6 feet vertically
  • Ability to read and understand company policies and procedures
  • Ability to work outside in the elements
  • Be available to work overtime and nights if needed
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Travel may be required
  • High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) preferred
  • Qualified candidates must be able to pass drug, alcohol and background checks
