West Dakota Water (WDW) is the largest private seller of fresh industrial water in North Dakota. West Dakota Water designs, owns, and operates a fresh water pipeline system and provides surface transfer services for oil and gas development projects. Located in some of the most productive fields in the Bakken, West Dakota Water’s system includes 120+ miles of pipeline, reservoirs, and pump stations, and SCADA controls. The West Dakota Water Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the design and construction of fresh industrial water systems and inground pipelines owned by West Dakota Water or developed for WDW customers. This position will ensure timely completion within budget and quality requirements, working with an affiliated company construction company (JMAC Resources) or a third party construction company. The Project Manager will design or oversee the third party design of projects including the development of high level project requirements. The Project Manager will assist in ensuring strong landowner relationships are maintained throughout the project including all reclamation efforts. The Project Manager will also oversee other projects such as those projects related to using or developing water resources, developing solutions for enhancing WDW’s system and performance, assisting with development of solutions/operating plans to fulfill customer orders, development of Standard Operating Procedures or Practices, or assist in developing customer project proposals.
  • Lead projects in accordance with West Dakota Water’s People First, Safety Always company value.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of West Dakota Water’s existing system and practices.
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within the scope of company policy. Develop and maintain a quality control programs. Establish, implement, and monitor administrative procedures.
  • Manage project design and construction to ensure quality projects are built on time, to performance specifications and on budget.
  • Proactively oversee aspects of the project that impact landowner relationships. Ensure construction stipulations are adhered to, and reclamations are completed at a high quality and on a timely basis.
  • Maintain prime contract and subcontract documents.
  • Keep management informed on progress of project and budget.
  • Perform additional projects as assigned.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety
  • Demonstrated proficiency in civil construction methods civil construction materials and industry best methods and requirement. Experience developing water pipeline systems is preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in managing execution of multiple projects leading to high quality results and timely completion within budget
  • Demonstrated proficiency in leading project teams and working individually
  • Strong communication, proactive problem solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in dynamic, changing circumstance
  • Minimum of three years construction experience in a Project Manager role.
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Construction Science, Construction Management, or equivalent training
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; GIS; Hard Dollar or similar estimating software; Primavera, Microsoft Office or similar scheduling software, and experience with ERP systems
